The stabiliser for a heat exchanger and a heat exchanger system which incorporates it involve heating of hot water using remote heat. The heat exchanger has channels for first and second media and a regulating device which controls the temperature in the second medium to a required level after heating. The stabiliser is a further heat exchanger which contains at least one first phase-changing stabilising medium with a melting point somewhat higher than the required temperature. The stabiliser is connected to the outlet from the heat exchanger for the second medium. The stabiliser contains wax or similar. The stabiliser can therefore eliminate undesirable temperature peaks arising from heat pulses in the system.
