A partition comprises members 1 each formed by a rigid framework in which two uprights 2 are connected by cross-members (not shown in Fig. 28), adjacent uprights 2 of adjacent members 1 being interconnected at points spaced along their length by pairs of clamp members 36 which are drawn towards each other by nuts and bolts 48, 49, the clamp members 36 and the uprights 2 having interlocking formations. The nuts and bolts 48, 49 may be shaped to retain joint cover strips 50. The connection between the members 1 may be adapted to the formation of T-shaped and cross-shaped structures. The frameworks forming the members 1 may be filled by fixed opaque or transparent panels, in a single layer as shown at 26, or in two layers each of which is located by recess shown along the edges of the uprights 2, Fig. 5 (not shown). Alternatively the framework forming a member 1 may be filled by an openable member such as a single or double door 89 which is secured within the framework by L-shaped sections 69 which serve to carry door hinge components, Fig. 29 (not shown) or door catch component 86 and door seals 83. The door 89 comprises on four sides peripheral box framing members 91 interconnected by corner members guided by ribs 105-110 and secured by screws. The crossmembers 3, Fig. 14 (not shown) connecting uprights 1 of each member are of box section and slidably receive members 23 of H-section which are screwed to the cross-members 3 and to the ends of the uprights 2, Fig. 9 (not shown). |
