The ventilation system comprises a first opening (7) with its entrance on the outside of the shoe (1), one or more additional openings with their entrances on the inside of the shoe and located at a distance from the first openings and a conduit (6, 9) for air extending between the first opening and additional openings. The conduit preferably extends at least partly along the inside of the shoe. A bellows or balloon pump (5) is provided in the heel (3). The first opening is in the shoe upper (4), next to a region of the shoe extending around the calf. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Inlay sole comprising the same ventilation system as above; and (B) Shoe containing this inlay sole.
