A toggle pin (10) comprising an elongate main body portion (11) having two ends, one end (12) being provided with a passageway (13) that extends at least partially through the main body portion (11) and which is open at the one end (12) such that a line member (16) can pass into the passageway (13) and be connected to the toggle pin (10), the other end being provided with a toggle plate (14), the toggle plate (14) being pivoted (15) to the main body portion (11) in such a manner that the toggle plate (14) can move between an unlocking position where the toggle plate (14) is substantially in line with the main body portion (11), and a locking position where the toggle plate (14) is substantially at right angles to the main body portion (11).
