FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology, amino acids. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method for preparing L-cysteine by using bacterium belonging to genus Escherichia wherein production of L-amino acid by indicated bacterium is increased due to enhancing expression of genes of cluster cysPTWAM. Microorganisms are cultured in nutrient medium containing thiosulfate followed by isolation of prepared and accumulated L-cysteine from cultural medium.
