<p num="1"><br/><br/><br/>A hydrotalcite which can inhibit water blushing in agricultural polyolefin <br/>films, blooming in vinyl chloride resin films, and the phenomenon in which the <br/>electrical resistance of electric wires made of a vinyl chloride resin <br/>decreases. The hydrotalcite, when used as a neutralizing agent for an acid <br/>catalyst residue contained in a polyolefin resin or copolymer thereof, can <br/>inhibit the occurrence of eye mucus and discoloration (yellowing) in extrusion <br/>during pelletization. It is suitable for use as a resin additive. The <br/>hydrotalcite is represented by the following formula (1): [(Mg)x(Zn)y]1-<br/>z(Al)z(OH)2(An-)z/n~mH2O (1) (wherein An- represents an anion having a valence <br/>of n; and x, y, z, and m are values satisfying the relationships 0.5'||to_char('&')||'lt;=x'||to_char('&')||'lt;=1, <br/>0'||to_char('&')||'lt;=y'||to_char('&')||'lt;=0.5, x+y=1, 0.1'||to_char('&')||'lt;=z'||to_char('&')||'lt;=0.5, and 0'||to_char('&')||'lt;=m'||to_char('&')||'lt;1) and has a sodium content of 100 ppm <br/>or lower.<br/>
