EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently burn and remove particulate matter by efficiently performing separation and re-collection of particulate matter.

SOLUTION: One set of filter device groups composed of a first filter device 10A and a second filter device 10B arranged closely to an exhaust outlet of an internal combustion engine 1 is provided. The first filter device 10A (same for the second filter device 10B) is connected to two cylinders 1a, 1b at an inlet side thereof, and is provided with a first case 20A including a first filter storage chamber 21A and a first swirl chamber 22A adjoining the exhaust outlet side of the first filter storage chamber 21A, and a first filter 30A demonstrating catalyst action collecting particulate matter in exhaust gas and promoting combustion of collected particulate matter. Outlet sides of a first and a second case 20A, 20B are mutually connected by a communication passage 40 and the communication passage 40 extends in a direction crossing an exhaust passage 50 at roughly right angles.
