<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting bed whose whole length is shortened as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The lifting bed comprises a first driving mechanism to move upward/downward along a head side leg part set upward on a floor surface, a second driving mechanism to move upward/downward synchronously with the first driving mechanism along a foot side leg part set upward on the floor surface, a floor part with one end in the longitudinal direction connected to the first driving mechanism and the other end to the second driving mechanism, on which a mattress is mounted, a head board provided between one end of the floor part and the first driving mechanism across the connection part between the one end of the floor part and the first driving mechanism, and a foot board provided between the other end of the floor part and the second driving mechanism across the connection part of the other end of the floor part and the second driving mechanism.
