PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a lamp in which unevenness of thickness of a coated film formed by drying a coating liquid can be made small. SOLUTION: Formation of phosphor film 34 on the inner face of a glass tube 22 is carried out applying a coating process for coating suspension 36 containing phosphor on an inner face of the glass tube 22 and a drying process for drying the coated suspension 36. In the coating process, the lower end opening of the glass tube 22 is immersed into the suspension 36 and the suspension 36 is sucked into the glass tube 22. Then, when the suspension reaches a prescribed position, suction of the suspension is stopped, and the interior of the glass tube 22 is opened. In the drying process, drying air 38 is made to flow in from the upper end opening of the glass tube 22, and an air curtain 40 is formed on the outer circumference of the glass tube 22.
