PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device in which a disk is easy to load when it is loaded and unloaded, a traverse part can be protected, and the appearance is good. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a traverse base 5 which is constituted movably between a first position not overlapping a disk placing plane 3a and a second position overlapping an opening 3b and has a clamper for holding a disk 4 to a turntable 1, and an opening/closing member 9 which can open and close the opening 3b, when the disk 4 is clamped, a clamp base 5 is shifted to the second position from the first position, the opening/closing member 9 is shifted and the opening 3b is opened, the traverse base 5 is shifted to a recording and reproducing position from a standby position , and the disk 4 is clamped by the turntable 1 and the clamper 11.
