PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable recording in an optical disk by a CAV system. SOLUTION: When information is recorded in an optical disk rotated at a constant angular speed, if a designated recording speed is highest in the optical disk device, the maximum amplitude of a servo signal is obtained in an evaluation area set in the recording surface of the optical disk rotated at an angular speed according to the highest speed (steps 411 to 417). When the maximum amplitude is equal to or more than a threshold value, a speed lower than the highest speed is set to a recording speed for recording information so that the maximum speed is within the threshold value (steps 419 to 429). Recording power is obtained based on power information which has been obtained by trial writing in a trial write area set in the inner peripheral part of the optical disk (step 437). Information is recorded based on the set recording speed and the obtained recording power (steps 439 to 443).
