PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily preventing the corrosion of a carbon steel material which contacts with an aqueous solution containing an organic sulfonic acid such as methanesulfonic acid and butanesulfonic acid. SOLUTION: The method is directed at preventing the corrosion of the carbon steel material which contacts with the aqueous solution containing the organic sulfonic acid, and includes controlling a pH of the organic sulfonic acid to 12.5 or higher, and preferably to 13 or higher. Thereby, the carbon steel material can be completely prevented from corroding even when contacting with the aqueous solution of the organic sulfonic acid at 50°C or higher, and further at 80°C or higher.
