The device (1) has a movable shut-off body (130) and a movable capillary head (140), such that the shut-off body and capillary head are moved between open and closed positions to open and close a capillary line (200). The device is used to control the flow of fluid through the capillary line. The device is connected to a fluid holding system included in e.g. inkjet printing system, direct fuel cell system.
