<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system for authenticating whether a device is in a normal area or not by detecting a current position of the device to be authenticated without depending on a communication, and a control system for controlling an operation of the device by using the authentication results. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device N receives a GPS signal from a current position detection device 10 to authenticate whether or not a vehicle to be verified is in a normal area set by a user, based on the GPS signal. If the vehicle is within the normal area, the navigation device N extends an operation of the engine of the vehicle, otherwise, the navigation device N determines whether or not the vehicle is within an operation time limit, if it is not within the time limit, the navigation device N outputs an engine start un-authorizing signal to an engine control system E to prevent the engine from starting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
