PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink container provided with a mechanism introducing outside air so as to make a negative pressure control in an ink storing section, wherein such inconvenience as breakage of a negative pressure control mechanism due to an unforeseen shock or the like, and leakage of ink from the negative pressure control mechanism to a periphery are avoided. SOLUTION: The negative pressure control mechanism is provided with the ink storing section 101 and a buffer chamber 120. The ink storing section 101 stores ink as it is and has a movable member 160 which defines at least a part of the section and changes its internal volume, and the buffer chamber 120 allows change of the internal volume of the ink storage section due to movement of the movable member. The negative pressure control mechanism is provided in the inside of the ink container, connected to the buffer chamber (140'), and makes outside air introduced therein via the buffer chamber.
