PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technology for compensating chromatic variation in accordance with a signal processing. SOLUTION: The image processing method comprises following steps. (1) Seeking a variation rate of a brightness signal when obtaining or creating the brightness signal from a color image signal, and performing a predetermined signal processing to the brightness signal. (2) Seeking a correction coefficient corresponding to ratio of "a component of each color included in the color image signal" and "the maximal value of the component of each color". (3) Seeking an adjusted variation rate by multiplying the variation rate by the correction coefficient, and performing the signal processing of the color image signal based on the adjusted variation rate.
