PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easily and intuitively performing editing work. SOLUTION: In this apparatus, editing information corresponding to an editing operation is acquired in response to an editing operation input; a coded stream read from a storage means for storing the coded stream is subjected to decoding processing; display video data to be displayed by a plurality of video display units on a display screen are each generated; and the plurality of generated display video data are interlockingly displayed as a video display unit group in which the plurality of video display units are interlocked in a display order, while providing a difference in time in a motion image status among the plurality of video display units; and the display mode of the video display group is changed in accordance with the contents of editing information.
