PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selecting method of organic EL device materials for fully, efficiently obtaining the organic EL devices having sufficient luminescent properties for practical use. SOLUTION: A selecting method of organic EL device materials solving the problem is the selecting method of the organic EL device materials selecting dopant materials used with predetermined host materials contained in the light emitting layer of the organic EL device, from two or more kinds of dopant materials having the same main skeleton. The selecting method has a dopant determining process of determining on the basis of the correlation between the ratio of the molecular weight of each dopant material to the molecular weight of the host material, and the luminous efficiency of the organic EL devices provided with the light emitting layer containing the host materials and the dopant materials.
