<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic waste in which the usage of a chemical and fuel is reduced, the total cost of utilities is reduced and the discharge amount of CO<SB>2</SB>gas is reduced while utilizing characteristics of a wet methane fermentation process. <P>SOLUTION: This method for treating organic waste comprises a methane fermentation step 2 of wetly methane-fermenting organic waste such as sewage sludge a1, livestock excrement a2 and garbage a3 to obtain biogas (b) containing methane gas, a vaporization/concentration step 3 of vaporizing water in the fermented/digested liquid (e) obtained at the methane fermentation step to concentrate the fermented/digested liquid and enrich its organic matter content until a concentrated liquid (h) is obtained which is suitable for treatment at a hydrothermal reaction step 4 being the succeeding step and the hydrothermal reaction step 4 of oxidatively decomposing the organic matter contained in the concentrated liquid (h), which is obtained at the vaporization/concentration step, by a hydrothermal reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
