In a twin circuit hydraulic braking system for automotive vehicles, a brake pressure limiting device comprises two interfitting valve bodies 1, 2 including valves 4, 5 each having a stem and head 22, and a single control member or push-rod 6 in direct engagement with one of the valves 4, the latter being adapted to drive directly the other valve 5 responsive to the action of a reaction spring 32. As shown, the bodies 1, 2, respectively, have inlets 10, 11 for connection to a master cylinder and leading into chambers 12, 13, and chambers 20, 21 communicating via ports 18, 19 with outlets 14, 15. The push-rod 6 is operated by a spring 33 actuated by a rod 36 connected to a torsion bar 42 of the rear wheels of a vehicle. (For Figures see next page.)</p> |
