PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device capable of reducing consumption of electric power and using a tag reader in the long term. SOLUTION: When a key is inserted in a key hole 26 made in an inner cylinder 25, a mechanical authentication of crest and trough shapes of a shank section of the key is executed, and rotation turned to an unlocking or a locking position of the inner cylinder 25 is permitted in agreement with the authentication. When the key is rotated turned to the unlocking or the locking position, the rotation is prevented at the unlocking or the locking authenticatable position by a lock pin 32. When the inner cylinder 25 is rotated in the authenticatable position, the rotation of the inner cylinder 25 up to the position is detected by a rotational position detecting sensor 31, an operation of the tag reader 30 is turned ON for the first time in here to communicate with a radio IC tag incorporated in the key, and an electronic authentication is executed. When the electronic authentication makes agreement, the lock pin 32 is moved to an evacuated position, and the rotation turned to the unlocking or the locking position of the inner cylinder 25 is permitted.
