PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uneven woven or knitted fabric having no directionality in wiping performance, and providing all of nonconventional touch feeling, hand and drape, water-absorbing properties and wiping properties when used as a towel or the like. SOLUTION: The uneven woven or knitted fabric includes at least 30 mass% yarns having uneven structure in the longitudinal direction based on the whole yarns constituting the fabric. The yarn has≥200/m number of convex parts,≥200 dtex total fineness and≤1.0 dtex single fiber fineness of the yarn constituting the convex part.
