PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide-based fiber which has excellent extension recovery rate, exhibits high hygroscopicity, and has a good fiber touch, and to provide a method for producing a polyamide-based fiber, by which the polyamide-based fiber can be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: This highly hygroscopic polyamide fiber having excellent extension recovery rate and obtained by blending polyamide 46 with at least one or more other polymer components is characterized by having a recovery rate of≥57% on extension of 20% and a water vapor absorption coefficient of≥4%. The method for producing the polyamide-based fiber having excellent extension recovery rate is characterized by mixing polyamide 46 with polyamide 6 in a ratio of 65/35 to 35/65 and then spinning the mixture.
