A Lighter-than-Air Airship with self-sealing capability, comprising a semi-rigid hull, reinforced by capsule shaped tubes, supported within the structure by lightweight frames, and blocked from moving by a separating frame. Space in front of this forms another compartment providing an aerodynamic facia, additional cargo loading ability: and a suitable location for piloting. All compartments/tubes are filled with lighter-than-air gas. The Airship uses "ball and socket" type landing gear. Features can include counter-acting flaps, a new design of propeller engine with capacity for centre-less propellers, and an explosive anchoring system enabling the Airship to land, unload, and lift-off quickly without taking on ballast. The combined functions of flaps and engines permit use as a rudderless craft. It incorporates an integral, longitudinal cargo/passenger unit, which can be separable and have optional mechanism to vary its position to the Airship. |
