A deceleration control device for a vehicle mounted with an automatic speed changer of which speed change ratio is changeable by driver's shift operation. In shift operation by a driver (YES in S100), a deceleration control device for a vehicle controls a load on a brake actuator or an engine so that the vehicle is decelerate the vehicle (S106), where this control is performed when it is determined that a driver intends to decelerate the vehicle (YES in S102) and simultaneously when an automatic speed changer is not shifted to the down shift side (NO in S104).
