An optical compensation plate having an optical compensation layer being resistant to cracking by pressure application and deformation by heating, etc. At least one surface of optical compensation layer is coated with an adhesive containing a humidity curable isocyanate compound of 100°C or below glass transition temperature, and the adhesive is cured to thereby directly superimpose a cracking prevention layer on the surface of optical compensation layer. This cracking prevention layer prevents the cracking and deformation of the optical compensation layer. This optical compensation layer is preferably one with cholesteric structure, and the material for constituting the optical compensation layer is preferably an oriented liquid crystal polymer or non-liquid-crystal polymer provided by polymerization of an oriented liquid crystal monomer. |
