Heading B7C The amount of heat transmitted from a wheel to a tyre is limited by a heat transmission varrier comprising a metallic annulus 1 spaced away from the bead-seating portion 5 of a wheel and heat insulating material located between the annulus and bead-seating portion 5. The heat insulating material may either be air or a layer of asbestos or heat-resisting rubber. The metallic annulus may be made of rigid metal or metal mesh and may be provided with a highly polished radially inner surface. The heat-insulating material may be separate from or bonded to either the metallic annulus, or the bead-seating surface of the wheel, or the bead region of the tyre. |
