<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can prevent defects due to the fact that a paper discharging performance and a printing speed become unmatched. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where printing papers of different sizes in a paper feeding direction are set in a plurality of paper feeders, if the paper feeder is changed, it is judged whether or not the size of the printing papers set in the changed paper feeder is longer than a predetermined length. A usable proper printing speed is displayed at a display device of an operation panel by the judged result. Discharged paper jamming due to the fact that the paper size is long can be prevented by selecting the printing speed from the range of the displayed printing speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
