摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate material with excellent resistance to plate wear, suitability for lithographic printing and smudging proofness, a support for the lithographic printing plate material for providing the material and a method for manufacturing the support for the lithographic printing plate material. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an aluminum support to obtain the support for the printing plate by performing an electrochemical surface roughing treatment and an anodizing treatment, the electrochemical surface roughing treatment is an AC electrolytic surface roughing treatment in an electrolyte composed mainly of hydrochloric acid. This AC electrolytic surface roughing treatment has two processes, i.e. a first process and a second process, each under different AC current wave-form and current density. The first process is a treatment process under the AC current wave-form obtained by controlling an energization start angle at 0 to 90 &deg; and 30 to 80 A/dm<SP>2</SP>average value current density.
