PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system wherein an image captured by a monitoring camera is displayed and remotely monitored on a display of a personal computer, mobile phone, PDA or the like, the image can also be stored and furthermore, a monitoring point can be operated by manipulating, on the screen, a push-button switch of an operation panel indicated on the display. SOLUTION: A monitoring camera installed for each of a plurality of monitoring points and a personal computer installed near the monitoring point or in a monitoring facility are connected by a cable or by radio, the personal computer and a communication terminal apparatus comprising a display of a personal computer on the remote site or the like are connected on the Internet, and an image of the photographed monitoring point and a push-button image for selecting and controlling the monitoring camera are displayed on the display of the communication terminal apparatus, so that switching and control of the monitoring camera, operation of facility equipment provided in the monitoring facility and the like can be remotely performed by operating a mouse, keyboards, keys and the like of the terminal apparatus.
