PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head (magnetic recording device) which does not erase data on a recording medium, even if an external magnetic field is impressed. SOLUTION: A structure of a head floating face is made to satisfy d1≤t1 and d2≤t2 where d1 is the difference of edge positions of an auxiliary magnetic pole and an upper shield in a track width direction; d2 is the difference of edge positions of the upper shield and a lower shield in the track width direction; t1 is the film thickness of a magnetic substance having the greater length in the track width direction of the auxiliary magnetic pole and the upper shield; and t2 is the film thickness of a magnetic substance having the greater length in the track width direction of the upper shield and the lower shield.
