<p>Apparatus for optimizing the yarn take-off at the winding site of an automatic cross-winding machine, with a vertically adjustable yarn guide positioned above a take-off bobbin, comprises a positioning device (18) for the yarn guide (17), which vertically positions the guide as upper limit for the yarn balloon to that (a) a compressed simple yarn balloon (30) is formed and (ii) positioning of the guide during yarn take-off is carried out on-line in dependence on the winding state of the take-off bobbin (9).</p> |
