HOWLING SUPPRESSOR

A howling suppressor detecting occurrence of howling accurately when compared with conventional howling suppressors and reducing deterioration in sound quality incident to howling suppression. The howling suppressor comprises a signal-dividing section (13) for dividing an acoustic signal into a plurality of components, a howling-detecting section (14) for detecting occurrence of howling for each component divided by the signal-dividing section (13), a howling-suppressing section (15) for suppressing howling of each component for which occurrence of howling is detected at the howling-detecting section (14), and a signal-synthesizing section (16) for synthesizing each component for which howling is suppressed at the howling-suppressing section (15) and each component for which occurrence of howling is not detected.
