<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep operation stability for applying a voltage corresponding to a grayscale data to a data line in a structure in which a plurality of grayscale voltages are changed for each color in a time sharing system. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage generation circuit 32 outputs grayscale voltages Vref0 to Vref7 corresponding to each different grayscale for each display color in the time sharing system. A D/A converting circuit 51 selects one of the grayscale voltages Vref0 to Vref7 according to the grayscale data D. A sample and hold circuit 53 includes a sampling switch 531 and a capacitive element 533. The capacitive element 533 holds a voltage Vout which is selected by the D/A converting circuit 51. The sampling switch 531 which is located between the D/A converting circuit 51 and the capacitive element 533, is in an OFF state from a starting point of a period in which the voltage generation circuit 32 outputs the grayscale voltage corresponding to each color till a predetermined time later, and thereafter, it becomes an ON state.
