NEW MICROORGANISM AND METHOD FOR TREATING OIL AND FAT-CONTAINING WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new microorganism excellent in decomposition characteristics of oil and fat and to provide a method for treating an oil and fat-containing waste by using the new microorganism.

SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the new microorganism (FERM AP-20240) belonging to the genus Bacillus and the method for treating the oil and fat-containing waste comprising decomposing and composting the oil and fat-containing waste by the new microorganism. In the method for treating the oil and fat-containing waste, decomposition of the oil and fat-containing waste is carried out at 40-70°C.
