PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selecting an image to be displayed in quick review, irrespective of an order of recording into a recording medium at the time of bracket photographing. SOLUTION: This image pickup method uses an image pickup means to pickup images which has an image pickup means for generating image data by photoelectric conversion, a temporarily storing means for temporarily storing the image data generated by the image pickup means, an image processing means for performing image processing for the image data stored by the temporarily storing means, a display means for displaying the image data subjected to the image processing by the image processing means, and a recording means for recording the image data subjected to the image processing by the image processing means into a recording medium. The device is provided with a control means for controlling the image processing means and the recording means to perform a plurality of times of image processing to the same data stored in the temporarily storing means, and performing control so that a plurality of image data subjected to the image processing may be recorded into the recording medium; and a selecting means for selecting image data to be displayed by the display means from among the plurality of image data subjected to the image processing by the control means.
