PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for toner excellent in both low-temperature fixability and offset resistance, capable of maintaining a high image density even in long-term repetitive printing, and useful as a binder resin of toner, and to provide an electrophotographic toner containing the binder resin. SOLUTION: The binder resin for toner contains a resin (A) and a resin (B) having mutually different softening points, wherein both the resin (A) and the resin (B) are hybrid resins each obtained by mixing raw material monomers of a condensation-polymerized resin, raw material monomers of an addition-polymerized resin and a bireactive compound capable of reacting with both the raw material monomers of the condensation-polymerized resin and the raw material monomers of the addition-polymerized resin, and by carrying out a condensation polymerization reaction and an addition polymerization reaction in parallel in the presence of a release agent.
