PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic packing machine of a long material capable of performing labor saving and rationalization of the long material packing work, and improving the workability of the work to assemble a polygonal prismatic spool having a flange part by folding a predetermined part in one corrugated fiberboard formed in a predetermined shape and the work to wind the long material around the assemble spool, and automating these works. SOLUTION: The automatic packing machine comprises a folding mechanism of forming a polygonal prismatic spool having each folded blade tip folded at a right angle to a hollow prismatic barrel portion by folding a predetermined part of one corrugated fiberboard P formed in a predetermined shape, and a spool holding mechanism 51 to wind the long material around the spool. The spool holding mechanism 51 is automatically attachable/detachable to/from the hollow prismatic barrel portion of the spool, and capable of holding the hollow prismatic barrel portion from an inner side, and holding a flange part of the spool in a folding posture state.
