PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy conversion device capable of effectively converting vibration energy into electric energy, and a movable body equipped with the energy conversion device. SOLUTION: The energy conversion device 10 is equipped with a piezoelectric element 13 comprising a piezoelectric plate 11 and a reinforcement plate 12, a rib 14 provided to the outer peripheral end of the reinforcement plate 12, a spacer 15 provided to the center of the reinforcement plate 12, a holding member 16 wherein a groove 19 for movably holding the ribs 14 is formed at a constant interval so that a plurality of piezoelectric elements 13 can be held in the thickness direction at a constant interval, a press member 17 for applying an external force to the center of the plurality of piezoelectric elements 13 held by the holding member 16, and a preliminary press mechanism 18 for applying a preliminary pressure on the press member 17 side in the center of the plurality of piezoelectric elements 13 held by the holding member 16. When an external force is applied to the press member 17 to relatively displace the holding member 16 and the press member 17, the piezoelectric elements 13 are deformed to generate electricity.
