PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a stable state of a cordless telephone to be charged, and facilitate a placement and an extraction of the telephone. SOLUTION: The cordless telephone comprises a handset 2 and a cradle 1 on which the handset 2 is placed. A holding recess 3 for placing the handset 2 is provided in the front of the cradle 1. The holding recess 3 comprises an inclined face having a curve corresponding to a shape of the handset 2, a bottom face having the same shape as a bottom face of the handset 2, and a side face for holding both sides of the handset 2. The inclined face has an inclination angle for allowing the handset 2 to downwardly slide by its own weight. When a bottom end of the handset 2 abuts on a back face of the holding recess 3 and the handset 2 is left in the holding recess 3, the handset 2 downwardly slides along the holding recess 3 by its own weight. A recess provided on the bottom face of the handset 2 engages with a protrusion 4 provided on the bottom face of the holding recess 3.
