PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded magnet type motor which can suppress the loss of magnetic balance caused by the circumferential centers of alternate magnetic path formed parts being at unequal angular intervals and can reduce the torque ripples. SOLUTION: The rotor 3 of the embedded magnet type motor has a rotor core where storage holes 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b, 51a, 51b, 52a and 52b and magnetic path formed parts 31-33 and 61-63 extending radially between them are made, and V-shaped permanent magnets 14-17 which are arranged in each storage hole. The circumferential centers (L1) in alternate magnetic path formed parts, which partition V-shaped permanent magnets 14-17 separately for each pair out of a plurality of magnetic path formed parts 31-33 and 61-63, are set at equal angular intervals. Then, the rotor core has first and second split rotor cores 11 and 12 divided axially into plural pieces, and the circumferential widths of the magnetic path formed parts 31-33 and 61-63 are set to vary with the first and second split rotor cores 11 and 12.
