PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a more low-profile disk device performing recording and reproducing of information by driving an optical disk. SOLUTION: The disk device is constituted in such a way that a spindle motor 9 having a drive shaft with a turntable 7 and a clamp head 8 fixed thereto is arranged at a front end part of an elevating frame 10, and that the elevating frame 10 is arranged in the direction along a diagonal line inside the disk device, and that the optical disk D is clamped by the clamp head 8 and held on the turntable 7 by swinging the front end part of the elevating frame 10 vertically, wherein when the front end part of the elevating frame 10 is lowered, a horizontal state of a flat plane being orthogonal to the diagonal line of the elevating frame 10 is maintained.
