PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot for performing inspection and repair work in a plant by using laser light, which can identify a location of gas leakage from equipment or a pipe even if the amount of gas is minute, and then repairs the location of the gas leakage. SOLUTION: The robot has a carriage 7 provided with a plurality of wheels 6 for performing advance, retreat, and rotation; a laser device 8 mounted on the carriage 7, for detecting gas leakage from the equipment or the pipe by emitting laser light; a condensation distribution measuring device mounted in the carriage 7, for measuring concentration distribution of the gas leakage detected by the laser device 8; and a damaged location identifying device mounted in the carriage 7, for identifying a location of a highest gas concentration by the concentration distribution measuring device. The laser device 8 further has a function of repairing the damaged location identified by the damaged location identifying device, by applying laser light different from the above laser light, and therefore the laser device not only can identify the location of the gas leakage from the equipment or the pipe even if the amount of the gas is minute, but also can repair the location of the gas leakage.
