The device has a support arm (12) and two retaining arms (14, 15) with a slide valve (18) are fitted at a rear end of a motor-driven vehicle (11). The slide valve is pulled near the vehicle when the vehicle is driven forward and backward. The slide valve is made of elastic material e.g. rubber. The valve is bent or curved at its ends. The valve is adjustable in a work angle relative to the vehicle and a public thoroughfare. An independent claim is also included for a method of applying a coating on a public thoroughfare.
