<p>A communication apparatus and authenticating method wherein a false authentication can be prevented from occurring during an initial authentication in a connection between communication apparatuses. A communication apparatus (1) comprises an authentication processing part (20) that manages, during an authentication between the communication apparatus (1) and another one, the statuses of the communication apparatus (1), in which authentication can be commenced, authentication cannot be commenced, authentication is started, authentication is being performed, authentication has been succeeded, authentication has been failed, and authentication has been completed, and stops any authentication when receiving a plurality of authentication messages at the commencement of an authentication or during the authentication; a collision detecting part (25) that determines that a plurality of authentication messages have been received; a display part (23) for displaying the statuses; and an input part (22) for accepting a switching from the status in which an authentication can be commenced to the status in which the authentication is commenced (an authentication commencement operation) and also accepting a switching from the status in which the authentication is successful to the status in which the authentication is completed (an authentication completion operation).</p> |
