[Also in Division F4] In a hot water heater, e.g. for a beverage brewing apparatus, wherein cold water poured into a basin 16 flows down through pipe 18 into a hot water chamber 12 and displaces hot water through an outlet siphon pipe 20, the water is heated to a predetermined temperature, e.g. 200‹F., by a main electric heater 28 and is maintained at that temperature by a smaller heater 29. A thermostat 32 operates a switch 37 to de-energize the main heater 28 when the predetermined water temperature is reached, the heater 29 being energized continuously. A vent 42 in the pipe 18 vents the upper part of chamber 12 to atmosphere. The siphon 20 discharges through nozzle 25 into a beverage making apparatus. |
