A roller arrangement comprises a roller having two end pieces 20, 21, Fig. 5, interconnected by a flexible foil 1, pressure being exerted on the foil and end pieces by a pressure medium filling the internal hollow space adjacent the foil, at least one pressure body 13, Fig. 6 adjacent the inner surface of the foil and at least one backing body 14 outside the roller, the pressure and backing bodies forming a co-operating pair of magnetically attracted working elements. Gas pressure is admitted through a valve 4 in shaft 23. The rollers 13, 18 are revolvably mounted on supports 22 which are freely mounted on shaft 23 and connected together by a distance tube 19 having several radial openings. Rollers 18 may act as pressure bodies which attract the elements of a printing press e.g. an inking roller 15 or a scraper 24, the rollers 13 being attracted by a magnet paper roller (14). The surface of the foil may carry the printing forme which is manufactured by a photochemical treatment or by electrodeposition. In another embodiment a printing roller similar to the roller 1 in Fig. 5 contains only a magnetizable roller (13), Fig. 3 (not shown), which is attracted by a magnet roller (14) which supports the printed material. An inking roller (15) contacts the roller (1). The foil may have one or more layers e.g. formed of nickel or highly polymeric material. A gas or liquid pressure medium may be used. |
