<p>Medicaments containing cpds. of formula (I) are useful as analgesics, central depressants or tranquillisers (where R = 4-Cl, n = 2 or 3; R = 3-CF3;, n = 2 or 3; R = 2-Cl, n = 2). The cpds. may be prepared by the reaction of the acid chloride or an ester of 2-Cl benzoic acid (II) with a phenyl piperazinyl alkylamine. In an example 25.4g 3- 4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-piperazino -1-propylamine was treated with 17.5g of the chloride or (II) in benzene and aqueous NaOH to give (I) R = 4-Cl, n = 3, mpt 118 degrees C.</p> |
