<p>A bristle bunching system for a brush making machine has the bristles held in an open top reservoir (14) over which is slid a notched pick up plate (10) to collect amounts of bristles determined by the size of the notch. The effective size of the notch is variable using a slider (18) which covers part of the notch. The usual pick up system has a sickle shaped pick up arm rotating about a central pivot (4). The slider is positioned over the notch by a support linkage (20, 22) operated cyclically by a separate crank drive (26, 28). The effective notch size is adjustable for each pass of the pick up arm.</p> |
