<p>The safety breaker (21) is for a water heater (10) which has a heater unit (14) and switch unit (16) to switch the heater unit on and off in dependence upon a signal from a flow sensor (30). A safety switch unit (23,24) is in purely mechanical communication with a thermo-mechanical element (26) which is connected to a temperature sensor (25) in a heat transmitting manner so that following an over-limit temperature recorded by the temperature sensor a purely mechanical opening of the safety switch unit takes place. An independent claim is included for a water heater equipped with the aforesaid safety breaker.</p> |
